In the Fall of 2023, St. Pius X High School reestablished the cherished tradition of hosting Grandparents’ Day after a four-year hiatus in a heartwarming and long-awaited return. This special event returned in a new and exciting way, bringing together 500 grandparents, excited to spend the morning with their beloved Sartan grandchildren. The festivities commenced with a beautiful Mass, celebrated by Archbishop Wester, followed by a meet and greet over refreshments, and a self-guided tour of the school’s stunning campus.

It was a sight to see as nearly 1,000 grandparents and students, arm in arm, filled the Quad and crowded the halls. One of the day’s many highlights was the opportunity for honored grandparents to attend classes and interact with St. Pius X’s esteemed faculty members. This allowed them to gain insight into the educational environment their grandchildren experience daily. Many grandparents were given tests, quizzes, and assignments allowing them to experience firsthand the engaging and dynamic teaching methods employed at the school.

Save the Date
Our next Grandparents’ Day event will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. A schedule of events will be published closer to the event.
Chapel Project description: The St. Pius X School Chapel has served as a place of worship, spiritual growth, and community for generations of Sartans. With nearly 900 students on campus beginning the 2024-2025 academic year, there is a tremendous opportunity to meet their spiritual needs and serve as a beacon of joy and hope. The school is resurrecting a 2014 initiative to build a chapel that received philanthropic support from more than 60 donors. We are eternally grateful for their investment in this project.

Plans are now underway to move the current campus chapel to Assumption Hall where the library is located. This vast space will support 250 seats in a radiant setting with vaulted ceilings, bright windows, and permanent place of worship.

The library will move to Lourdes Hall during the Summer of 2024.

St. Pius X is accepting additional donor support for the new chapel. Contact Fr. John Trambley, President of School at (505) 831-8464 or Julie Cook, VP of Institutional Advancement at (505) 831-8423.
