Head Coach: Jordan Russell
Coach Russell will be entering her 10th year as part of the St. Pius X Program. She began as Head Coach in the 2017 Fall season and was previously Varsity assistant from 2014-2017. She was recently named the 2022 4A metro coach of the year. During her 6 years as head coach she has led the Sartans to 1 State Title (2019) and 2 State Runner Up (2017 and 2022). She was varsity assistant to the 2016 State Championship Team. Jordan also coaches club volleyball and has been coaching since 2010. Coach Russell loves to build not only the physical aspect of the game but most importantly the mental side. She is looking to build well rounded volleyball players that can use the lessons they learn on the court in their everyday lives.

 

Playing Experience:

Coach Russell played 4 years at the University of New Mexico.  She Served as the team captain in her final season at UNM...played in all 33 matches and started 29...split setting duties with Hannah Johnson...recorded 589 set assists (4.67/set)...added 12 kills in 42 attempts...had 29 service aces...had three double-doubles. For High School, Jordan attended Moriarty High School. She Led Moriarty to back-to-back 4A state titles in 2007 and 2008 ...first team all-state setter in 2007 and 2008...four-time all-district and two-time all-Metro in volleyball...2009 North 3 4A All-Star...All-district and all-Metro basketball honoree in 2009...four-year academic letter winner.

 

Coach Zay joined the coaching staff in 2017 and will be entering his 9th year of coaching volleyball. He is a great asset for taking our athletes to the next level in their game. He takes a big focus on conditioning and making sure that our athletes are in the best shape so that we can compete all season long.

 

Coach Jim joined the coaching staff in 2017 and will be entering his 9th year of coaching volleyball. Prior to coaching Coach Jim was a volleyball referee for many years. Jim is such a great asset to the program as he helps build fundamentals of volleyball in our young athletes and also is a great mentor for our athletes as they navigate high school.
