Departmental Merit Scholarships

Prospective 9th grade scholarships-
The following scholarships are only offered to students who test in the first testing cycle
(date to be determined-see calendar). All departmental scholarships require an
application. One scholarship will be awarded in each of the following areas:

Math merit scholarship-$1500
To be considered for the Math Scholarship, a student must score in the 90th
percentile or above in both the Quantitative and Math Basic Skills portion of the
Entrance exam. For more information contact math department chair Frances Torres.

English merit scholarship-$1,500
To be considered for the English Scholarship, a student must score in the 90th
percentile or above in the Verbal, Reading and Language Arts portions of the
Entrance exam. For more information contact English department chair Esperanza Plath.

Science merit scholarship-$1,500
To be considered for the Science Scholarship, a student must score in the 90th
percentile or above on the Science portion and Mathematics portion of the
Entrance exam. For more information contact science department chair Jonathan Ball.

These scholarships are renewable, provided the recipient meets the criteria for renewal.
