Sartan State Swimmers

Our Sartan swimmers swam strong in the 2023 NMAA State Swim competition. Our SPX Girls 400 Freestyle Relay medaled along with individual swimmers Audrey Phelps in the 100 Breaststroke and Free and Bella Shultz in the 500 Free. Overall, our boys team placed 11th out of 28 teams, with the girls placing 16th out of 27. Here are the results from State:
Girls 200 Medley- AvaMarie Machtinger, Audrey Phelps, Danira Madrid, Bella Schultz. 12th place 
Girls 200 Freestyle- Audrey Phelps: 6th place. Bella Schultz: 10th place.
Boys 200 IM- Grady Whitson: 9th place. (8th fastest time)
Boys 100 Butterfly- Grady Whitson: 9th place. (4th fastest time)
Boys 100 Freestyle- Jonathan Constable: 14th place.
Girls 500 Freestyle- Bella Schultz: 6th place. AvaMarie Machtinger: 13th place.
Boys 200 Freestyle Relay- Justin Duran, Samuel Buerschen, Jonathan Constable, Grady Whitson: 10th place.
Girls 100 Breaststroke- Audrey Phelps: 5th place.
Girls 400 Freestyle Relay- Danira Madrid, Bella Schultz, Audrey Phelps, AvaMarie Machtinger: 7th place.
Boys 400 Freestyle Relay- Justin Duran, Samuel Buerschen, Jonathan Constable, Grady Whitson: 9th place
Our Sartans competed against some of the biggest schools in the state, not just 4A. Because of this, breaking the top 16 placed our swimmers in the finals. Swimmers that finished in the top 8 attained a significant achievement. Congratulations to all our Sartan swimmers!
