Job description
At St. Pius X High School, we pride ourselves in having some of the most beautiful and
pristine buildings and campuses in the state of New Mexico. We are currently looking
for a hard-working, responsible, reliable, motivated, energetic and detail-oriented
individual who would add to our St. Pius X family in the Custodial Department.

The best candidate for the Custodial Department would have the following
skills/abilities:
 
  • Knowledge and skills to successfully complete general cleaning to include, but
    not limited to mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, washing, and throwing
    trash.
  • Knowledge of, and ability to use buffing, wax stripping, shampooing machinery
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends
  • Ability to work as a team, toward a common goal
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, climb, and bend for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift over 70 lbs
  • Knowledge of proper use and disposal of cleaning chemicals
  • Ability to work without immediate supervision
  • Ability to identify areas that need cleaning and complete task
  • Must be able to pass drug screening
 
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $14.00 per hour

Overview: A campus security guard is responsible for helping to provide a safe and secure environment for students and employees. At St. Pius X we strive to inspire and foster a culture that supports moral, social, and intellection growth while teaching young people to be ethical leaders in service of others.

 

Minimum Skills/Qualifications:

  • Exceptional people skills and good communication skills
  • Ability to organize time, projects and details
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Ability to complete security training program with 3-D security to become a New Mexico licensed security guard. There will be a probationary period of 90 days to determine job fit. In addition, if you leave your role within 1 year of being hired, you will be required to reimburse St. Pius for your security training cours due to the license being mobile and belonging to you.

 

What You Will Do:

  • Secure the premises by patrolling school property
  • Participate in security searches of school facilities
  • Monitor surveillance equipment for illegal activities around school property
  • Monitor access points
  • Permitting entry and exit to campus
  • Monitor and direct school traffic
  • Monitor and assist in emergency drills with the students and staff
  • Monitor and assist in emergency situations (fire, ambulance, etc.)
  • Lock down buildings, set security alarm systems to active or inactive mode
  • Special events: security for sports events (football games, basketball games, Grandparents day), security for dances (Laua, Homecoming, WinterBall, and class dances)
  • Cover Pius scheduled weekend events (This can include reunions, plays, athletic events and any other possible Pius sponsored events.)
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Physical Demands

The employee is required to be mobile to, from and within an office, as well as maneuver throughout the school facility to attend meetings, briefings and other work-related events. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.   • Able to stand for long periods in a day

St. Pius X School recently expanded, adding a middle school component to the established high school that has been successful for the past 68 years.

We are looking for a compassionate, patient, and inspired individual to join our Middle School Team as an After School Care Coordinator. As an independent catholic school, we strive to inspire and foster a culture that supports moral, social, and intellection growth while teaching young people to be ethical leaders in service of others.

The right person for this position will be someone with strong organizational and communication skills, has the desire to support middle school age students, and will be comfortable working in a role that will continue to evolve as our program is established.

 

The After School Care Coordinator will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

 

  • The safety and well-being of students and participants in the program.
  • Implementing engaging activities for the students and maintaining a positive environment.
  • Communicating with staff, parents, and others about program activities.
  • Maintaining attendance records and accident registers.
  • Training after school care staff and providing refresher trainings as needed.
  • Maintaining a clean and sanitary program environment.
  • Providing high quality risk management to ensure the safety of participants and visitors.
  • Following protocols for first aid and emergency situations.
  • The ability to adapt and be flexible to changing program conditions.
  • Managing participant behavior, activities, environment, and ability to redirect where needed.

 

Skill Requirements:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Ability to assess situations, established an educated response, and initiate continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required
  • Must be over the age of 18
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications
  • 2 years of child care experience preferred.

 

Hours and Environment Requirement:

  • This is a part time position that will require the coordinator to be available from 1:50pm to 5:30pm Monday through Friday.
  • Ability to work in an area with consistent noise, talking, and activities.
  • Ability to stand consistently.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 3.5 per week
