October has not only been a beautiful month, but has also been quite an eventful time for the Culinary Arts classes. Culinary Arts I and Culinary Arts II experienced their first catering event for the program. Participants from both classes catered the St. Felix Pantry International Festival on October 25 at St. Pius X High School. Students prepared a spaghetti and meatball dinner for 100 people. In addition, an abundance of Culinary Arts students volunteered their time to bake cookies at the school during Open House on October 17th. I am so proud of how far the students have come in their efficiency in the kitchens, knowledge, and skill.
I want to let you know about a few exciting events to come for the Culinary Arts classes; Culinary Arts I will begin their Gingerbread project on November 13th and the final creations will be completed on December 7th. All projects will be for sale and displayed at the St. Pius Art Show on December 10th. The Culinary Arts II classes will be preparing for their semi-annual Iron Chef competition!
