On October 10, 2015, the SPX Dorados Dance Team hosted 27 guests aged 4-13 at a “Welcome to the Jungle” Dance Workshop. The workshop started bright and early that morning with the Dorados teaching their workshop guests a fun dance to a mix of jungle-themed songs. After a couple of hours of learning, dancing, and eating snacks, everyone headed over to Milne Stadium for the SPX Varsity football game.

At halftime of the game, the Dorados and the workshop attendees performed the “Welcome to the Jungle” dance! The children were all dressed in fantastic neon colors and stole the show.

All proceeds from this workshop were used for a Dorados’ community service project. The Dorados made blankets for the UNM Children’s Hospital! With the workshop proceeds, they were able to make 36 blankets! The blankets will be handed out for free to children at the hospital to give them something that is theirs to snuggle in while at the hospital and to take home with them when they leave.

Thank you to everyone who supported us in this effort and to our wonderful guests at the workshop!

SAVE THE DATE:  The Dorados will be presenting our annual Christmas Dance Show “Warm Up for Christmas” on Monday, December 7 at 7pm in the main SPX gym.  Admission is $2 or free with an SPX ID.  We’d love to see you there!
